Title: Master List of Summaries

I was reading through what has been posted so far and I noticed that a lot of the stories involve a recently deceased relative that owned the storage unit. Other commonalities I saw were mothers "begging" their children to deal with the storage unit. Because we are early in the project this isn't too much of a problem, but as more people write their stories it will be important to ensure that they aren't too many similar circumstances to the point it starts to be unbelievable.

So here is a list of story summaries for reference that I will try to update periodically. To add your story to the list of summaries post the following:

Unit #98: Ascended Archie
Ned Stevens is a temp hired by Ancestry.com to digitize old files and records for Montana State Hospital. The unit is owned by the hospital. The only contact with them he will have will be when he delivers the files to the hospital after the 14th. The meat of the story will be answering the question, "why did a doctor get committed?*

Unit 105 Collecting Calves a young woman and her roommate are sorting out things of value from a storage unit that belonged to her deceased father. As they carry on with their task she recalls and retells an occurrence that happened after her father passed on in which she had a meeting with his financial adviser to start settling his estate, including his debts.

#11 No title yet. The main character is the niece of the owner. The owner is present when opening the unit but has to go to work shortly after. I would like to write more of the WIP before I post it. # 52. Title: Rubber Relic. More detailed summary: Darby Pearce is retreiving items owned by his father, who is currently in a hospice dying of liver disease bought on by chronic alcoholism. The items were put into storage by Darby, and consist of the contents of a basement used by his parents as a fetish dungeon up until the accidental death of his mother, who died of anaphylactic shock after developing a sudden-onset latex allergy whilst restrained in the dungeon for several days when his father was suddenly hospitalised. The father kept the room as a shrine for many years until the more dubiously accidental death of another woman he met online, which Darby helped him cover up before placing the entire contents in storage himself.

Main Character: Jeremy Harris, Relationship with Unit Owner: son of owner

Unit Owner: Kathrine Harris
Kathrine will not be at the unit at all, due do various complications including her extremely bad knees from years of construction work
Kathrine cannot get anything from the unit, due to a doctor telling her she cannot lift anything over 60 lbs. or her knees will give out on her.

Unit #88
Deceitful Doppleganger (title is work in progress)
Main character is Kimbre, the cousin of the owner of the unit. It originally belonged to his cousin's parents who have been dead for some time. They decide during Kim's return to Havre that it was time to explore the unit.
Kim will be present for the opening of the unit and besides retrieving some nostalgic items from his childhood, he is mainly there as emotional support for his cousin as well as supplying his truck.
I don't have a WIP as of yet
The story involves the dead uncle being a former artist for a company similar to Wizards of the Coast and having had worked on tabletop games and trading card games aside from being an artist in general.

I don't have a title or WIP yet;
#23 is the granddaughter of a local couple. Grandfather is ailing (in a home) and grandmother is not able to handle the unit on her own. The unit belongs to Grandfather, and he neglected to tell anyone about it until now. The narrator will be visiting both grandparents to clear up some unexpected things she finds in the unit.

Edit: oh, is that what's going on in unit 50? Gross. XD

Sure points on #13 - was owned by a local family. Inherited by a lady living abroad, who returns after got the letter.

Unit #95
Leaping Lizards
Narrator is Malek, nephew to the owner of the unit (Uncle Abed). When Aunt Karine dies to a sudden stroke, Malek learns that his crocodile-obsessed Uncle Abed is declared legally dead by the state of Montana on the same day (has been missing for five years). Malek inherits the unit and its contents from his uncle, which is full of quaint but seemingly useless junk...and a certain crocodile-themed item from his early childhood.

Unit #20: Ingenuous Ingenious

Your main character's relationship with the owner of the unit: Son, Mother is on location as well. Previous owner was Mothers very recent Ex who is now deceased.

If your main character will be in the presence of the unit owner when opening the unit. - Isnt this a requirement?

I will require people to tell me what they are doing at a very exact time and date only if they are near the units. I will make a future post for this.

Unit #45: Medical Malice

Owner is a friend from college, who is travelling and asked the narrator to take his stuff out, since narrator is the friend who lives closest to the storage units. Narrator will be alone when opening and carrying the stuff out.

Unit #121: Dear Diary

The main character is a victim of identity theft--someone has opened an account with Fleming Storage Units using her name and information. She argues that she's the closest the unit has to a legal owner, and since there are only a few days left to clear the facility, FSU grants her access to the unit that's under her name.

Other information: This story contains a diary, a dipping bird, and credit card fraud. (I would prefer that the dipping bird be unique to my story if possible, since it's very specific.)

I'll post my WIP once this draft is complete.

Narrator's ex-BF has old, foreign survivalist stuff hidden in unit including rations. Ex-BF eats some of rations and starts acting a little weird. Contents of unit transferred to new unit in next town over. Ex-BF continues to get weirder Narrator drops him off at home before going to new storage unit. When Narrator returns, Ex-BF has found a flamethrower among the other survivalist stuff and is acting crazy. Nothing good happens from there.

Owner: unknown who originally rented it but it now belongs to Delany
Narrator: Either Delany or her boyfriend, Mike
They are both present when the container is opened and emptied
Neither know what's in the container before opening it, Delany figures it out first and Mike realizes sometime after her or he doesn't realize fully what the contents are, depending on how I end up writing the story, or how much I imply instead of outright saying.

Banker's Boon

Owner: a shady Banker whose ambition and destructive choices drove his family away and now uses the unit to give his Grandson a life changing gift. He is not present at all the entire time Robert is emptying the unit.

Narrator: Robert Johnston a man in a rut in his life receives a letter from his estranged grandfather's lawyer telling him about the unit and the need to get the contents out before the 14th.

The story revolves around a boombox and a set of mysterious old motivational tapes. Robert decides to listen to the tapes as he combs through and packs up the rest of the items in the unit.

The characters interaction is very brief as she just wanted to get in and out of the unit. She goes when they open, she gets there after house sitting her missing friends grandfathers house. After some snooping she finds the email and goes to check out the unit as soon as possible. She is visiting the country after being invited by her friend she stayed a previous summer with as a foreign exchange student.

Narrator - Owner of storage unit, but filled with grandfather's belongings after his death.  Our narrator is a physical therapist who was responsible for cleaning up his Grandfather's estate after his death 7 years ago, and now has to clean out the storage unit. He is dealing with the emotion and issues with his family's issues and his own demons.  I hope to make the horror in this story a very personal one. 
The narrator is friendly and outgoing, I'd be interested in collaborating with neighboring units briefly as the characters cross paths.  He will be present over the course of the five days, but will not be in the units on day 5.

Figured I should make this official now that I know where it's going. Sorry it's taken so long.

Unit #35--'Salient Specimens'
Narrator: Michael Danvers, friend and former classmate of Shannon Gorski (unit owner, not present)
Unit contains: plaster heads (like wig models), display cases of pinned insects, and veterinary anatomical models ('split dogs'), all under plastic dust-covers
Spoilers: I'll be working with existentialism, self awareness, and free will
Spiritualism and contagious superstition play a large role in the story, though not to the point of conjuring ghosts or anything like that.

Extra notes, if they matter:
-Michael doesn't get along with people, but not for lack of trying.
-Shannon was injured in a car accident in September and cannot clear the unit herself.
-Shannon grew up in Havre, but moved to Fargo, ND, for college, where she met Michael.
-Unit #35 had been largely ignored for about five years until the Custodial Corpse call to action.
-Michael knows nothing of why he has to empty the unit, just that Shannon asked him to do it before the 14th.

108 Familiar Faces
20 something male named Oliver
Relationship: Started dating crazy stalker girl who owns the storage unit and uses the unit as shrine for protagonist. Inside is a box with pocket watch.
Will be opening midday on day 2 and closing almost immediately after that.
Story is unique because it has a female stalker as opposed to a big creepy male with a bushy beard and a taste for being creepy.

Unit #91: Sinking Sensation

Summary: Max goes to collect his late father's possessions from unit #91, but finds nearly everything water-damaged beyond reparation. The damp smell and discovery of his father's nautical clock cause Max to have a panic attack and flashback to the day of his father's death.

His brother owns the unit. They both live locally and it's usually Martin who calls to the facility. He has the appropriate paperwork. Their unit is filled with boxes of empty jars.

     After being given ownership of her family's old storage unit, Catherine visits the town for a day to clean it out. While doing this she discovers that one of the dominoes from her late sisters prized set is missing.

Sorry I haven't updated the list in so long folks. I had a 15 page ethnography paper due for my Anthropology class that was worth 20% of my grade, and then found out the day after I finished it that I have a Art History Research paper that is worth 15% of my grade due soon as well. I will try to get all the updates tonight if I can.

I got a 99% on my Anthropology paper though  :D

Title: Undecided (Underlying Unknows is what I'm leaning towards)
Narrator's relationship to the unit owner is unknown to the narrator. Someone rented the unit for them, prepaid credit card and their address and information for contact.
His wife, Maddie, is super curious but Narrator isn't so sure opening this is a good idea. He agrees to go and open it, and then Maddie has to bail on him due to job obligations, leaving him to open it alone. Narrator has anxiety issues regarding going to new places alone. Inside the unit is junk and toward the back various things he and Maddie have thrown away over the years. Including his favorite couch, some books, and such. And an odd note on top of the items with a photo from their wedding with their eyes crossed out. Maybe it's an invite from their wedding instead of a plain note?

I'm still figuring out the details of this story, I lost two big art files in November and it put me in a creative block.
